Frank Beanland was a painter and designer, primarily an abstract artist since 196. He trained at Hull College of Art, 1952-57, then at the Slade School of Fine Art, 1959-61, where he was taught by Claude Rogers and Ceri Richards. He began showing in mixed exhibitions in 1960 at Young Contemporaries, and also with the London Group and Gimpel Fils. An impressive list of London one-man shows included Drian Galleries (1963 & 1965); Grabowski Gallery (1967); Arthur Tooth & Sons (1969, 1971 & 1974); Smith's Gallery (1990) and Belgrave Gallery (1999 & 2005). Many other solo shows were also held elsewhere in England and abroad.
