Biography
Born in Wisbech and educated in Ely, Cambridgeshire, Rogers began painting in 1937. His early paintings were mainly portraits and landscapes, which moved towards surrealism in the 1950s. By the 1960s he was producing colourful geometric abstract oils and cut-metal reliefs and sculptures.
He exhibited with the Belgrave Gallery, and Abbot & Holder, London and had solo shows at the Drian Gallery, London (1966) and at the Vincintoria Art Gallery, Brighton (1968). BBC Southern Television made a film on Rogers' work which is held by the Warsaw National Museum, Poland. Belgrave Gallery and Abbott and Holder latterly exhibited Rogers' work.
